Welcome to the Georgia Certified Court Reporters Association The Georgia Certified Court Reporters Association serves all certified court reporters in Georgia by providing continuing education, encouraging high ethical standards, professionalism and unity. GCCRA membership is open to court reporting students, court reporting instructors, vendors, retired reporters, scopists, transcriptionists, proofers, videographers, interpreters, and CART and captioning providers.
GCCRA advocates technological advancement in support of the business and legal communities, and promotes court reporting as an indispensable resource to the judicial system.
The Georgia Certified Court Reporters Association offers its participating members a variety of benefits. Join Our Mailing List The Georgia Certified Court Reporters Association identifies areas of concern regarding the changing role of the court reporter and recommends solutions or actions to the Executive Board for implementation or follow-up;
Manages seminar program planning and compliance with Court Reporters Training Council requirements;
Formulates a code of ethics for court reporters in the state of Georgia and assists the Board of Court Reporting in considering matters of professional conduct and ethics;
Stays informed on all matters before the legislature which may have a bearing on any aspect of court reporting and court reporters, and shall make whatever input is proper to the appropriate legislative committees and elected representatives;
Oversees all legislative proposals that GCCRA might make to the legislature;
Supervises the distribution of materials made available to the Association’s membership and provides other such services as may be deemed appropriate;
Proposes a slate of officers for consideration by the general membership;
Identifies areas in which court reporters need assistance or clarification of existing rules and laws, and shall recommend solutions or actions to the Executive Board for implementation or follow-up. Certification Effective January 1, 2009, the Board of Court Reporting will require all applicants seeking certification to test with NCRA or NVRA.
